Gameplay analysis has a specific scope.
A field note examines a sequence or a small set of moments. It is not a scored review of an entire game. Unless an article explicitly describes an original playtest, the gameplay was recorded by the credited source creator. We do not invent playtime, performance results or first-hand experiences.
Sources stay with the story.
Every game page identifies the recording, creator, date and source link. Our archive retains the source metadata and the basis for reuse. Screenshots taken from those recordings are credited. Official promotional imagery and publisher gameplay are identified separately from creator recordings with a Creative Commons licence. Attribution does not turn publisher footage into openly licensed material. Editorial composites are not presented as untouched gameplay captures.
Older footage remains useful for scene analysis, but it does not prove the current state of a game. An archive date is not a current-patch test. We check practical information against publisher, developer or official store pages and show the check date.
Our labels are interpretations.
“Chaos,” “dread” and similar mood labels describe what drew our attention. They are not measured difficulty or fear ratings. “Up to four players” describes a supported capacity; it does not establish that a source recording contains four human players. Platform availability is not a cross-play guarantee.
Production tools do not supply evidence.
AI tools can help draft a script, produce narration or develop an image composition. They cannot establish that a game mechanic exists or that we have personally played a game. Claims must be supported by the source footage or verified information. Generative illustrations, when used, must be distinguished from gameplay evidence.
Links do not decide the conclusion.
Store links should help readers find the game discussed. Partner availability does not determine the order of a shortlist or the conclusion of a field note. Any commissioned placement or commercial relationship needs a clear disclosure. Read our link policy.
Corrections and updates.
When a material factual correction is needed, we will amend the page and add a dated correction note. A new game update will not silently turn an older analysis into a current-version review. Send corrections through the contact options on the Quiet Spawn channel.
