The first decision is whether you want Darktide. The second is whether you specifically want the character you saw in an Arbites video.

Those decisions can lead to different purchases. Start by writing down what attracted you: the setting, the group combat, or that particular class. A video can make them look like one package. A store page may sell them separately.

Start with a playable copy

Darktide is the co-op action game. Its Steam page describes the base product and lists the available purchase options. The separate Arbites Class listing explicitly requires that base game. For a new player, our suggested order is simple: establish the platform and playable game first, then decide whether the additional class is part of the experience you actually want. For an existing owner, check the library before putting another base-game package in the basket.

Buying for the cyber-mastiff

Fatshark identifies the Arbites as a class DLC and describes its cyber-mastiff companion. If that is the specific attraction, look for explicit inclusion of the Arbites Class in the product contents. Use three questions while comparing listings:

• Does this purchase contain Darktide itself?
• Does it contain the named class I want?
• Am I paying for additional items I would choose separately?

Do not assume that “more expensive” answers all three. Also distinguish a class from a cosmetic upgrade bearing a similar name. Check each listed item before checkout rather than relying on the thumbnail.

Buying with friends

Ask everyone to name their actual platform or PC storefront, not just say “PC.” Fatshark’s support guidance says cross-play is always enabled on Steam, while Microsoft/Xbox account settings can restrict cross-network play. This is also a useful moment to compare expectations. Does everyone want to play the same game, or has one striking clip persuaded the group to buy before they have watched a longer sequence? Send the group our credited Darktide field note and let each person look at the full scene.

New to Darktide: identify a base-game purchase, then consider the class separately. Already own it: check which content is missing before comparing add-ons. Unsure about the experience: start with the footage and postpone the extra purchase.
